Egyptian film One Week Two Days to compete in 13th Dubai film festival

Osbou we Yomen (One Week And Two Days) was among seven films announced so far to be competing at the 13th Dubai International Film Festival’s (DIFF) Muhr Shorts category. Eight more films are yet to be announced, making a total of 15 competitors.

Written and directed by Sudanese director Marwa Zein, this is the world premiere for t20-minuteute short fiction film, which is a joint production between Egypt and Sudan.

Starring Yasmine Raees and Amr Saleh, the film is an exploration of the “highs and lows of intimacy between Leila and Ibrahim, a loving couple, as they deliberate the difficult decisions surrounding conception and parenthood,” according to DIFF’s website.

DIFF has been one of the most important regional film festivals since its launch in 2004.

DIFF’s Muhr Competition for feature fiction, non-fiction, and short films aims to highlight distinctive films from the Gulf region and the Arab world that are inspiring and creative.

“The films selected for ‘Muhr Short’ category are an exceptional collection of contemporary cinema which grant a true audience experience by entering into the Arab world and capturing the essence of its dynamic community,” Masoud Amralla, DIFF’s artistic director commented on this year’s selection in the press release.
